The Steam version has no problems running on Windows through Bootcamp. Many of us on Macs find that Bootcamping Windows, for those of us who have the resources and patience to manage two operating systems, provides a much better way to play TS3 in particular. Those on Mojave or prior systems would not have this particular restriction or be affected either way as they can still run 32-bit only applications. EA has recently announced a compatibility patch (much to everyone's great surprise since the game itself is so far out of its development cycle) to arrive sometime in 2020 to address this. Further, the Mac version will not run AT ALL in any way on Catalina, the recently released macOS, because that OS version is 64-bit only. The Mac version can only address up to 2 GB of RAM whereas the Windows version can use almost twice that, which can become very limiting as games progress and EPs get added. It should perhaps be noted that the Mac version of the game is crippled compared to its Windows sibling.
